Probably no one would even need to buy the magazine in order to get the instructions; just a peek at that page shows how they did it. I hate to say that, though, since it's a great magazine! [img]redface.gif[/img] I used it a lot as a youth mentor.

Thanks so much for the nice comments about Opie! He's still a kitten and already 11 pounds (a svelte 11 pounds!), so my parents joke that we accidentally adopted a mountain lion.

How cute! I have that magazine, and hadn't looked all the way through it. I'm not quite sure I would've noticed it, either, but I really love it. I'm thinking that dd and I will work on that sometime together.

For you Barbie fans, there's also a neat little Barbie house idea using the shelves too.

The current issue of Family Fun magazine (December/January) tells how to make a bunk bed for dolls out of a two-shelf bookcase. An American Girl is happily sleeping in the top bunk in the photo accompanying the article. The instructions appear on p. 68. It looks incredibly simple to piece together, and would be a fun Christmas morning surprise for girls with AGs.
